Re: Bf 109H-1
It may well be that the Bf 109 H-1 was never produced, but at least one Fb. from Rechlin shows multiple entries for Versuch Bf 109 H. As I noted above, these entries are pretty solid documentation.

Re: Bf 109H-1
The Bf 109 H with 5.(F)/123 is referenced also here. Destroyed without involvement of enemy during July 1944.

Re: Bf 109H-1
There were 3 prototypes:
- V1: WNr 16281/SP+EB - V54 : WNr 15708/DV+JB or PV+JB - V55 : WNr 5709/DV+JC |

Re: Bf 109H-1
Surely a record of PV+IB only shows that Rechlin tested the V54. This is not surprising, but is in no way confirmation of any production batch. Perhaps it was PV+IB that was tried at 5(F)/123.
It would be very interesting to tie down the engineering features of these three prototypes. |

Re: Bf 109H-1
Here are a few pages from a report on the Bf 109 H that went to Guyancourt. The side view is of the projected H-2/H-3. The Luftwaffe report of 16.7.44 notes that V54 was 109H V1, and V55, was V2. I figure that they would be the ones to know what comprised a 109H prototype. Enjoy.

Re: Bf 109H-1
Enjoyed, though with some difficulty reading it. This does seem to make clear that it was the V-54 prototype that was tested, not any examples from a production run of H.
