Hello Betty,
Can you please contact us at our website, maybe we can help you if you can supply us with further information. Of course I cannot promise anything but we would be honoured to add your uncle's loss to our growing remembrance archive. Hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards Melvin http://www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com/ |

Re: German Report on crash
Hello Betty,
My uncle was also killed in a Lancaster over Germany. A few years ago I started to research this and began by contacting the Air Historical Branch RAF. They were extremely helpful and supplied me with several pages of information including details of the mission, crew and the post-war Report on the crash. This included a map showing location of aircraft crash site and place of crew burial. |

Re: German Report on crash
Hi Betty1
The would be more easy if you gave us your uncles name and (mayby) the date he was killed. It would be fairly easy for us to find some information about your uncles last mission. |

Re: German Report on crash
Betty, what he was alluding too was if you have his name and the date one or more of the other posters may have done some research into this crash already, contacted locals, relatives, survivors. It might point you to additonal information that the AHB might not have.
If there were Australians on the aircraft then you could view their records on their national archives website, lots of little things. If there are Candaians aboard, their records are easily obtained and might be more easily obtained than Uk held files. regards from Ireland Dennis |
