Re: 7/KG 53 March 1943

A search of our files yields the following:

Oblt Friederici – no data.

EBELING, Dr. Ernst (Ernst-Hindenburg). (DOB: 22.11.19). (R, DKG). 10.41 Hptm., appt Staka 7./KG 53 (to 15.01.44). 23.12.42 Oblt., awarded DKG, 7./KG 53. 01.10.43 promo to Hptm.(Tr.O.). 20.03.45 Hptm. and Ia in Stab/KG 53, awarded the Ritterkreuz. †16.01.91.

JESSEN, Siegfried. (DOB: 27.04.14). 01.01.44 promo to Hptm. 14.01.44 Hptm., appt Staka 7./KG 53 (to c. 11.44). 11.44 Hptm., appt Staka 9./KG 53 (to 05.01.45 KIA) 05.01.45 Hptm., Staka 9./KG 53 KIA shot down by Mosquito of 406 Sqdn. - crashed SW of Husum.

VOLXEM, Karl-Anton van. 01.05.38 promo to Hptm. Not a Lt. but a Hptm. in 1938! But there can’t be two people with this same name!

We have nothing on the non-officers.

We hope this helps.

Re: 7/KG 53 March 1943

Ernst Ebeling was Staka 7./KG 53 from July 1 1942 until Januar 1944. From that time he became Ia by Stab/KG 53. According to KTB III./KG 53 he was awarded as Ritterkreuzträger on March 28 1945,

Re: 7/KG 53 March 1943

Thanks gentlemen. I already have the Ebeling information. As to Jessen, he joined 7/KG 53 1 Feb 43, then became Gr Adj Sep 43, St Fhr 7/KG 53 14 Jan 44, St Kap 7/KG 53 25 May 44 and then St Kap 9/KG 53 in Aug 44. I have a Lt Von Volxem missing (POW?) 27 May 43 and then there was a Hptm Karl-Anton Von Volxem still a Hptm 1 Jan 45. Possibly a father as to be promoted to Hptm in 1938 and still a Hptm in 1945 must mean something??
