Horbaczewski crashed just off the east end of Beauvais Nivillers runway. Germans removed the surface wreckage, and the aircraft was not dug up until 1947. Reputedly Horbaczewski's mother did an extensive search which led to the dig. The problem was that Horbaczewski's body was pressed below the engine, and a full recovery was needed. 1 MREU was responsible IIRC. There is a report filled by F/L Pedder(?), which I have seen in English, French and Polish versions, providing few details on identification.
