Re: Schutzstaffel/Ergänzungsjagdgeschwader 1

Hi Michal,

Aaah, found your losses too in the KTB Lfl. 6. There is nothing else related to Schutzstaffel (E) JG 1 that I could find.

On 8.3.45 it was reported that Eins.Gr. IV. (Erg)/JG 1 was stationed at Görlitz with parts of the unit in Bautzen-Litten and Königgrätz. Could this be the link to Schutzstaffel (E)/JG 1? Do you know when GFM Schörner had his headquarters there? Could be that these Bf 109's belonged to IV.(E)/JG 1. As you know IV.(E)/JG 1 became III.(E)/JG 1 on 29.3.45. Kommandeur was Hptm. Seckel. I believe they just left a few Bf 109's, maybe one or two Schwarme behind to protect Schörner?

That's all can think of.

John.
