German veterans visiting Finland

Dear all,

It is my great pleasure to inform you about the coming event:

After Generalleutnant Günther Rall, Wing Commander Robert Foster, General Vasilj Reshetnikov, Leutnant Klaus J.Scheer and the Estonian pilots Hendrik Arro, Kaljo Alaküla, Valdo Raag and Feliks Prodo, we are proud to present our next foreign guests.

Mr Peter Spoden, Mr Walter Schuck and Mr Hans-Ekkehard Bob are visiting Finland on 6.-8. March.

I guess that I don´t have to present these three gentlemen to members of this board, all are very well known persons and Peter is even an active member here.
This visit is a joint venture, arranged together by The Finnish Aviation Museum Society and Koala-Kustannus (Publishing Company).

Our guests will give a short presentation and answer questions at the Finnish Aviation Museum (near the Helsinki-Vantaa airport) on Saturday, March 7th at 14.00 o´clock. They will also visit the Aviation Museum of Central Finland on Sunday, March 8th, around noon.

Please read more details here: http://www.imy.fi/ajankohtaista/saks_vierailu_09.html
The website will be updated soon with more information. Unfortunately it is only in Finnish.

Don´t miss this very special event!

Best regards,

On behalf of the Finnish Aviation Museum Society
Raimo Malkamäki

Hi, Raimo...

Very good news. Would be interested in attending if I can get the time away from work. Do you know what language this presentation will be conducted in? Last event I enquired about was in Lithuanian, if I remember correctly, sadly, not a stong point of mine... ! Thanks a lot.

Regards...

Paul

Hi Paul,

I believe that in this event both English and German will be used, maybe also some parts translated to Finnish.
Peter speaks perfect English and Mr Bob also speaks at least some English. Mr Schuck will very probaly use German language.

Estonian language was used during the last event in 2007, since our guests were from Estonia and our languages are "related".

Paul, I think you´ll manage with the language(s) this time...

All best,
Raimo

Hello Raimo,

Please if you´re going to attend this meeting I would appreciate you could forward a hello from me to both Peter Spoden and Klaus Scheer due their help to some questions I sent to them and their kindness with me.
Thanks in advance,
Ops, just mention Sergio Luis from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil! I´m sure they will remember me!

Hi Sergio,

no problem. I´ll travel with our guests the whole weekend and I will tell your regards to Peter. Although I believe that he has already read your message here on this board... he is regularly reading these discussions.

I will also let Klaus know. He has been here twice, and this is Peter´s third visit to Finland. They are great guys! (in this case I dare to use the word "guys").

All best
Raimo

Are you filming this event? Could it be made available online for us who can't make the trip this time? Just an idea!

Re: German veterans visiting Finland

Sergio: Thanks!

Mikael: No, not personally since I will be having my hands full making sure that everything goes smoothly during the weekend.
Usually there has been some people with video cameras among the audience, especially from the Virtualpilots ( www.virtualpilots.fi ). Now I have heard that their regular "Kriegsberichter" is not able to attend this time.

I am not promising anything, but let´s see what can be done.

All best,
Raimo
