Re: I/JG11, IV/JG3 or I/JG1 FW190 lost near Schwerin May 1, 1945
Hi all,
On 1 May 45, 10.(13.)/JG 51 was also active over Schwerin - six Fw 190D-9s of the Staffel escorted twelve Fw 190F-8s of an unidentified unit into the Schwerin area. F/Lt. Cowell of the "Kudos Red" Section of 41 Sqn shot down two D-9s, flown by Fhj. Ofw. Marquardt and Ofw. Buss. Both pilots parachuted (their planes crashing on the SE bank of Lake Schwerin), but the fate of Ofw. Buss remains a mystery. Regrettably, I do not have further information as regards the Fw 190F-8 Jabos. I hope this information helps to complete the picture, Marc Deboeck
