What units did former MP Tony Benn fly with & what aircraft types did he fly?

There was a detailed article on Tony Benn in a relatively recent edition of Aeroplane magazine. His brother, by the way, was killed in a Mosquito crash at RAF Thorney Island.

Apparently he trained as a Pilot Officer in South Africa and Rhodesia, gaining his wings in 1945.
Still working on the training units. David.
