Wasn't Fw. Muller flying a Yellow 3 in March 1943? Apparently there was more than one Yellow 3??

In our records we have Uffz. Guenter Seraphim as pilot of this aircraft.

Müller was 6 staffel (II Gruppe). This Bf109 was IV Gruppe.

Thanks for your help!
A "yellow 3" is unusual for me to be a plane of the Gruppenstab?!

Re: Bf 109 G "yellow 3" near Rorvik (norway)
Interesting is the still visible overpainted fuselage band in front of the Balkenkreuz.
Is it possible this particular plane is depicted in Brekken/Akra´s "Luftwaffe Fighters and Fighter-Bombers over the Far North" on p.122 top? The planes here are described as Bf109G-2/R6s. The over-sized markings are typical for JG 5, but the difference to the white of the Balkenkreuz bars ponts to yellow as Staffel colour imo. The mottling of the engine cover visible in the video resembles to the mottling on this particular pic though the shape of the "3" does not look identical... Your opinion? Regards Roland |

Re: Bf 109 G "yellow 3" near Rorvik (norway)
I was searching for info on this aircraft as someone requested a profile of it. I would say that you might very well be right Roland, it does looks like the aircraft on p.122 in Kjetil's book. The "overpainted fuselageband" is just heavy overgrowth of something. (My english is very limited when it comes to underwaterplants!)
The camo on the aircraft on p.122 surely matches the video and it also matches the Wrk.Nr - The aircraft wears a typical WNF camo. I'll post a profile once it'd one! Cheers! / Anders |
