Re: Ofw Johannes Neumann 1/JG300

Hello Steve,

According to Lorant/Goyat in 'Jagdgeschwader 300 - Vol.1' I found the following information:

9/3/44: Ofw. Johannes Neumann, 1./JG 300, wounded following engine malfunction, belly landing at Welsch-Neudorf in 109G-5,we.8 - WNr.110034 (built at the Erla-Werke in Leipzig)

13/9/44: Lt. Johannes Neumann, 1./JG 300, KIA after aerial combat with P-51, Hasselbach in a 109G-6/AS,we.5 - WNr.166474 (probably built at the Mtt.-Werke in Regensburg, but not certain)
Probably combat with Mustangs of the 357th FG around 11u40 over the Halle-Leipzig Sector.

Kind Regards,

Dirk
(from a freezing cold Belgium)

Hi Dirk, from an equally freezing UK!
Many thanks indeed for the information for Neumann, this really helps.

Ive read so many good reviews on the Lorant/Goyat 'Jagdgeschwader 300 books, are these still available and what is the cost?
Id like to purchase these if still in print.

Best regs,
Steve.

Re: Ofw Johannes Neumann 1/JG300

Evening Steve,

I knew two stores in Belgium who sell these two volumes. The one in Brussels is called "Librairie de L'Escadron". Unfornetatly no websale. But here is a link to an article about the shop. It's in Dutch but perhaps you can swing it through a translator: http://www.brusselnieuws.be/artikels...-over-oorlogen

The other one is called "De Krijger" in Erpe-Mere (near Alost/Aalst). They have a (small) website: http://www.dekrijger.com/

I can't remember how much I paid for the first vol (about 80€), but vol 2 had a price tag off 106,60€.

Kind regards,

Dirk
