Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hello RudiS, and thanks again for your hard work,

Regarding Post #1276, unless I am mistaken this photo was taken at Fl.Horst Landau-Isar (R-69, near 48.725000 12.695833) and that is Bf 109 G-12 22+ white visible in the background. Interestingly, 22+ white features the KG55 Griffon crest on its port cowling.

Respectfully,

Steve Sheflin

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hi Steve,

Effectively, on other available picture, the Arado is visible in far background.
Another much more interesting detail, if ever, is the fact that code number "Weisse 22" is situated at the right of the "black" cross; reading from left to right.
I.e. the cross on starboard is situated more aft on fuselage (or more forward on port) due to lesser space left by G-12 canopy.

Regards,
Franck.

PS; This feature raising a doubt concerning application of unit markings on that period machines for which only one side is known

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Correction: Landau-Isar is actually an Einsatzhafen.

Rudi, I like that you include the photo in your posts as going to the link most times shows a different photo.

Kutscha, when an auction ends, ebay initially directs you to a current, similar auction. However, you can easily open the proper auction by hitting the blue button (for example, 'listing' on ebay.com or 'Angebot' on ebay.de) which position I marked with a red rectanle on the following screenshots:
