Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The print was made by a photoshop at Jever according to the stamp at the back of the photo. That might be a clue. IV/NJG3 was based at Jever from Dec 1944 till Mar 1945.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The white band around the wing near the end, bit not a white tip. Interesting. Is that BF 109 wing?
Explanations about the band?

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
My eyes were caught by the same detail. By casually looking at it, it's an Fw 190 wing to me, but I might be wrong.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
I believe you are correct, that does appear to be a Fw 190 wing. A quick search through my books does not turn up similar markings. Usually white wing tip area.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The Ar 196A-5 (Wrk Nu 623183) was most likely photographed a Willow Grove NAS in Pennsylvania. It was from the Prince Eugen, test flown and left at the base in 1949.
It was subsequently sent to NAS Pensacola, but severely damaged. Not sure of current status. The other Ar 196A-5 from the Prince Eugen is at the NASM.
