Re: Bf 110 WNr. 720082
Hi all,
I am currently speculating that <<2Z+MF was photographed at Schleissheim and is plane #14 in post #15 here: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...t=schleissheim Can anyone with access to additional photos exclude or confirm this possibility? Regards, Christian |

Re: Bf 110 WNr. 720082
In the photos I have, if it is Beckers aircraft, there are trees very close by, especially to the rear and left of the aircraft. Immediately to the right is a Ju 88 G (I can't provide codes as I am away at work and going by memory). The photos are said to be taken at Ingolstadt, though I can't confirm.
So, lots of assumptions here, but if my photos are indeed of Beckers aircraft, they do not match the linked photos here. Of course the time my photos were taken could be quite different too. So, the search continues... Mark Proulx |

Re: Bf 110 WNr. 720082
If it helps, the Ju 88 G photographed to the right of the aircraft in my photos coded ##+HM. The H is lite in color, possibly white.

Re: Bf 110 WNr. 720082
Hmm, this is very likely the same plane which is depicted on page 176 in David Williams "Nachtjäger Vol.2" (Classic). The caption gives its Werknummer as 620751 and the full code as 2Z+HM. Location is said to be Aschaffenburg (actually Großostheim I guess).
Page 183 in the same volume has another Aschaffenburg/Großostheim plane: Bf 110 G-4 2Z+AA, mount of NJG 6 Kommodore Herbert Lütje. Perhaps 2Z+MF was photographed there too, but the surrounding "feels" different, I can't help it. No trees, very high grass... |

Re: Bf 110 WNr. 720082
After careful analysis of the photos Christian identified in the source above, the photos I have are of Lutje's Bf 110 2Z+-AA, not Beckers 2Z+MF. I have enough of a walkaround here to know that the profile on page 183 is incorrect.
Thanks for all the pointers... Mark Proulx |

Re: Bf 110 WNr. 720082
BTW, are there any known photos of the rudder markings applied to his aircraft? Classic Vol 2 states the markings on his aircraft as graffiti applied by US troops but the photo of such poor detail it is hard to tell.
