Re: Rossosch, Russia
The airfield in question is undoubtedly:
Rossosch (in German but Rossosh in English).– Located 110 km SE of Smolensk. Classed as a Feldflugplatz (Ffp.) and assigned target number (Ziel Nr. 3975). Located in Meldquadrant. 44242. There was only airfield by this name on the eastern front This comes from Larry deZeng’s compilation of airfields in: “Airfield Directory Russia and Eastern Europe 1938-1945” with some 1200 airfields identified. As for what units occupied it and when, that would take a long time to extract so I leave it to others..... |

Re: Rossosch, Russia
Oops! I should have mention that this is not published yet. Perhaps it will find its way into an Appendix of a future book.
Sorry about that. |

It sonds an interesting project.
BTW I sent some details to Larry few years ago about Rossosch (especially about the ground battles around it and about the evacution of the airfield in January, 1943) |

Fabio, Only the Bf 109F-4's were operated by Hungarians from Rossosch (and they used the Me 210, not 410 during the war and the Ca.135 was a very bad aircraft but it is off topic here) |
