Re: Fw 190D unit at Anring (?) in early May 1945
Yep. My mistake.
http://www.ww2.dk/Airfields%20-%20Germany%20[1937%20Borders].pdf <--- DO NOT CLICK THE LINK. COPY the ENTIRE ADDRESS and PASTE it into a blank address block. See page 8 and 9. See map below, the yellow bar is .8 kilometer. This: "Near Bad Reichenhall, in the village of Ainring, was the airport used by Hitler and other higher ranking Nazis and visitors when they flew to the Obersalzberg. The airfield area has been incorporated into the town of Ainring, and the main building is now a Police facility. (from period postcards and Herbert Hoffman, "Deutschland baut," Stuttgart, 1938; modern photos courtesy Ralf Hornberger) (Google Maps link)" From: http://www.thirdreichruins.com/miscbldgs3.htm Hey bavgan! Look at those "long-nosed' fighters sitting on the airfield at Ainring after the war. Bronc Last edited by Broncazonk; 30th May 2020 at 04:13. |
