My source for the above came from a friend in Cologne back in 1981 when I was working on a project there with Atlas Copco/DavyMcKee. He was a fellow researcher and was very generous with information he had gathered on the Luftwaffe in Italy -sadly now passed away

Fw. Walter Klein, shot down by Spitfires on 7 February 1944, bailed out and spent about a month in hospital.
