Re: P/O Carson John Foy RCAF
Update re. P/O "Jack" Foy:
I'm now in touch with Jack's mug, Ken Johnson. Ken has relayed the story of Jack's loss in incredible detail. He informed me that the surviving crew were "forced" to participate in a air ministry photo session with the a/c the following day after Jack's loss, & they were on ops. again same night. Appearently the photos of the turret-less LM481 do exist. Can anyone point me to a source @ KEW, etc?? Also, Mr. Bobbiggles does not reply or answer his PM's. No surprise there. Cheers. Paul |

Re: P/O Carson John Foy RCAF
My Uncle, John Ware, was the Wireless Operator on this flight. I now have a copy of his Log Book which shows the Pilot as F/O Watkins. They flew together in 61 Sqn until Oct 1944 before moving to 9 Sqn where they continued to serve until 1946 when F/o Watkins had been promoted the S/L.
In 9 Sqn they used the Tallboy bomb and were on the raid that sunk the Tirpitz. |
