Just a remark
Laurent Rizzotti in the first post of this thread (9 1/2 years ago) - sorry I didn't see it at the time:
"2 crew and 1 passenger is a little too few for a Luftwaffe Ju 52" - No, it all depends. I guess the standard crew was 5 men (?) but, especially at war, there are lots of special cases, like: - flying empty (or with some wounded troops, mail etc.) to Germany to fetch some important piece of equipment or personnel, flying back full loaded or so; - bringing some important person (VIP) to some other place, no matter how big the aircraft; - carrying a cargo (ammunition, weapons, food, fuel or whatever) to some other place, like from Oslo to Narvik, etc. Sorry I know nothing on this particular loss. |
