Ed,

Is there any reason why there would be a discrepancy between your info and mine? Both of them would appear to be very reputable sources and it really leaves me wondering who is correct...

Nick

Please note a phonetic similarity between Monschau (GE) and Montjoie (FR). I don't know what the MACR report says here. Moreover, Montjoie is the French name for Monschau...!

In a previous post I mentioned this German town because one of the crew members reportedly was killed near that town in the crash.

MACR report (on Fold3) says 50.41 N 06.20 E which is in Germany.

Location of mission (Solingen, Leverkusen) precludes any crash in any French town with that name.

Regards,

Leendert

Hello Leendert:
50.41 N 06.20 E would be in Belgium:
http://wikimapia.org/#lat=50.41&lon=...0.41%2C%206.20

May be it is meant 50° 41' N, 06° 20'
which indeed would be in Germany:
http://wikimapia.org/#lat=50.68333&l...33%2C%206.3333

bye, best wishes,
Frank

Gentlemen,

all locations mentioned are wrong.
The crash location is 3kmwest of EUSKIRCHEN between Elsig und Dürscheven50041'N/ 06"20'E .
Evidence: Madison, Hughes, Lilienthal an Lochman were initially burried at Dürscheven, Smith at Elsig on 2nd Dec 1943. Anderson was laid to rest at Euskirchen.
