WNr.481197 was on this site already discussed that it should be WNr.781197

Correct or not I'm not the expert only an observer.

Thanks Peter. Yes, quite probably it is 781197. 481197 doesn't fit very well to building blocks. I have a note, that 481197 comes from WASt documents, but also they contain errors.

Nobody is an expert in RLM Werk.-Nummer system.

STARK, Günther. 01.08.43 Lt., in 1./JG 4. 08.02.44 Lt., 1./JG 4. 25.04.44 Lt., with 3./JG 4. 24.07.44 Lt., appt Staka 3./JG 4 (to 14.01.45 KIA). 24.12.44 Oblt., 3./JG 4 WIA - Bf 109 shot down by American fighters vic Morfelden. 14.01.45 Oblt., 3./JG 4 KIA - Bf 109 G-14 (Yellow 4) shot down by P-47s vic Oppau, 5 km NW of Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Buried at Ludwigshafenfriedhof. Credited with 10 victories.

Now we have to look for the american P47 that the 14-1-1945 shot down Gunther Stark
with the BF 109 in Oppau at 5 km NW of Ludwigshafen !!

WJW, please separate your requests for info on different pilots into separate threads, otherwise things get confusing if different pilots are listed under the same thread.
