Re: Seenot.Gr.80
For what's it's worth, there is a photo of a line-up of Me 410s of Seenot.Gr.80 on p. 48 of the Squadron/signal pub. # 147 on the Me 210/410. And, although you can't see it in this shot, the closest a/c, F4+EC, had two victories on the rudder. And, contrary to what the caption says, it was an early Me 410 A-1.

Re: Seenot.Gr.80
Thanks George
Surely the Me410 (F4+EC) with two victories must have been Langer's aircraft? I believe he was the only pilot from this unit to claim two kills. Cheers Brian |

Re: Seenot.Gr.80
I've looked in some reference books about this incident. The Mosquito XIX was shot down "east of Lowestoft" while the Halifax claimed by SeeNot Gruppe 80 was claimed nr the Kattegat,i.e. near Sweden and Denmark.
It appears to me the Mosquito was shot down by another unit, maybe VKG 2? I'm trying to find out if any Coastal Command Halifaxes were lost on this date. |
