Thank you a lot! Absolutely amazing. Even the windmills near Goreloje that he mentioned are visible on a 1941 map. So it was a motor fire during transit flight of his Schwarm to Zaporozhye. And the search was unsuccessful due to fog. It looks like part of the II./JG52 was temporary redeployed to Zaporozhye due to Red Army advance. Maybe the absence of this Bf109 in GQM returns happened due to organizational problems (alleged temporary territorial dividing of II./JG52). I wonder if the case in question was reflected in NVM.
