Raids over southern England 19/8/42

Thanks for that suggestion, I'll work my way through the CWGC site.

I didn't notice Uffz Mang whilst working through the loss lists at the IWM, but if his date of death is 19th August I guess it is highly probable that his death is related to the raids over the returning Jubilee Force/Southern England. Is it possible that he was in the Ju88 that forcelanded at Chateaudun?

Do you know if there were any raids in the same area on the 18th or 20th? The CWGC lists a number of civilian deaths on these days as well as for the 19th. In my experience of researching Military deaths occasionaly a date of death is incorrect so I wonder if that may be the case here or were the deaths a result of raids on the other days.

As I was the one to advice you to check the CWGC, I will just add that this website may list dead of firemen or ARP personnel without any aerial incident being involved.

Thanks for that. I'm aware of the limitations of the list, but your suggestion was a good point in one direction and in the case of August 1942 it seems (another assumtion I know) that all civilian deaths were caused by air raids.
