Well, if the Gaz-21 (Lavotchkin) factory was strongly respecting official color schemes, as the Yak-1 factory in Saratov (from Serguei Kuznetsov) and Gaz 153 (Yak-7) in siberia, I really don't see what kind of fighters you're talking about...

Actually WWII started in 1939, and Soviet Union joined it on 17 September of the year, attacking Poland. Several aircraft of the period were painted with silver dope, and such scheme was seen well into 1941, several of such aircraft being captured by Germans.

Good remind Franek. Actually they both start this action. Arsenal- I have just find in papers sources of info with general notes as well industrial references about the color I mention. Your wishes for good luck realy helps
