The two Dora 9 photos are of "White 1" W.Nr. 601033 1./JG 26. Lt. Kiefner flew this a/c to Husdedt where it was assigned "White 1", although it appears to be "Yellow 1". It was discovered by Canadian troops in April, 1945.

Hi Jerry,

Are there other photos known of this aircraft? I don’t remember having seen this aircraft before.

Roger

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hello Roger, there are two similar photos of this Dora 9 on page 358 of our vol. 2 book. It appears they were taken slightly earlier than the photos posted.
Cheers, Jerry

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Hello Jerry,

Thanks. Found them! Interesting. I have a similar shot of another Fw 190 D-9 from JG 26 from the same manufacturer, also lying on the ground. I first thought it is one and the same, but after closer inspection they seem to be two different aircraft. Unfortunately, some British soldiers are standing in front of where the tactical code would have been.

Cheers,
Roger
