Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.
Any idea from which part of a/c is this detail :
Profile looks like the end of propeller (but this is not propeller): https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...94668631641314 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...92732470967202 Brush painting: https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...92722263815106 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...94616613561266 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...94597060163906 ( I think about following units: JG3 , JG1 (Grupe II - 5./JG1), SG3, SG1 )

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.
I have seen them on fighters, fighter-bombers and bombers in all sorts of schemes
For example one of Jg54. Reiner: What are you're reasons for stating so firmly that it is a prop blade? Last edited by Snautzer; 5th September 2014 at 13:11. |

Reiner: What are you're reasons for stating so firmly that it is a prop blade?[/quote]
My experience, form, corrosion and the color compared with my photos tell me it´s a propeller! Rene Last edited by Reiner; 1st January 2015 at 13:16. |

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.
No , at this moment we have no more parts.
It will take more time because deeper exploration needs permission form area owner and historical department. So we will come back later with more picture after as we get all permissions. So it can be part of propeller (?): https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...93361906944274 I wonder which unit in March 1945 painted propeller in this way ( I think it could be from following: JG3 , JG1 , SG3 , SG151 , SG1 ...) ![]()

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.
Dears,
Here is update with some cleaned parts and more details. Have a look photos from picture: 274 to 308. https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...3E2cXj_OP4yAE# Have you got detail drawing for Fw190 like this one below: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...d-Fw-190-A-10? but bigger resolution and scale with clearlly marked all dimensions and wall thickness of "plates" ? I wonder what was really thickness of oil cooler and also for armour on the front annular cowling : "...Fw 190 A-8 The Fw 190 A-8 entered production in February 1944, it was either powered by the standard BMW 801 D-2 or the 801Q (also known as 801TU). The 801Q/TU was a standard 801D with improved, thicker armour on the front annular cowling, which also incorporated the oil tank, upgraded from 6 mm (.24 in) on earlier models to 10 mm (.39 in). ...." and "...Fw 190 A-9 The Fw 190 A-9 was the last A-model produced, and was first built in September 1944. The A-9 was fitted with the new BMW 801S, called the 801 TS or 801 TH when shipped as a Kraftei, or "power-egg", engine (an aircraft engine installation format embraced by the Luftwaffe for a number of engine types on operational aircraft, in part for easy field replacement) rated at 2,000 PS (1,973 hp, 1,471 kW); the more powerful 2,400 PS (2,367 hp, 1,765 kW) BMW 801F-1 was not available. The armour on the front annular cowling, which also incorporated the oil tank, was upgraded from the 6 mm (.24 in) on earlier models to 10 mm (.39 in). The 12-blade cooling fan was initially changed to a 14-blade fan, but it consumed more power to operate and did not really improve cooling; thus BMW reverted back to the 12-blade fan. The cowling of the A-9 was also slightly longer than that of the previous Anton's due to the use of a larger, more efficient annular radiator for the oil system. ..." Source: http://www.dark-history.eu/FW%20190.htm Here is part with number " 8-190 230872 " (probably 8-190 means Fw190) with two plugs/connection for sensor and pulpit indicator in cocpit panel like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WW2-German-V...-/230687246273 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...68326197506802 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...92450267118562 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...68385081872226 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...68340396355170 I think this is fuel level sensor (Elt. Vorratsgeber mit Reststandwarnung). Have you got detail drawing from Fw190 orginal Manual / Ersatz liste ??? +++According to white painted pice of propeller I have found photo of I./JG1 : http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Fw-190A/F...ny-1944-02.jpg and http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hungarian-Ae...item1e745952f9 +++ See our part of propeller: https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...94597060163906 https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...94668631641314 Please inform me in which unit, grupe , staffel for sure serve in March 1945 pilot: Lt. Hubert Swoboda ( JG1 , JG11 , 5./JG1 ... ) ???? Could you check original sources , documents , reports LW and compare ?

Re: Help needed with ID Luftwaffe fighter - Pommern 1945.
Dear Rene ,
I think almost all agree with Russian report (It was South of Stettin) !!! Thanks - Hubert Swoboda was WIA and died the same day in Lazaret. Kris PS- Russian version of this action: "... 11.03.1945 г. ----------------------------- 11/03/1945, Ten Jak-9 under the command of Captain V.N.Korshunova accompanied by 17 IL-2. Over the target appeared four Fw-190, which was attacked on the back six of IL-2, out of the attack. Kites with his quartet went across the path of "Focke-Wulf" and from a distance of 100 m cannon and machine gun fire brought down the front on top of their master. At this time, another pair of "Focke-Wulf" on a collision course tried to attack a Soviet attack from below. Lieutenant D.N.Vereschagin went on the attack on the couple on the back and at close range shot down the lead, which from a height of 400 meters, turned over (I think for speed jump with parachute?) and crashed into the ground (Yes , it agree on the field (old map) in 1945 and now 2013 - so Russian pilot could see this fact). In this battle, distinguished and Lt. E.P.Zamyatkin - he also shot down one plane. Источники информации: 1. Пруссаков Г.К. и др. Военно-исторический очерк о боевом пути 16-й воздушной армии (1942-1945). — М.: Воениздат, 1973. ..." So it is a/c as here: "...Fw190A9 - Werk nr.: 980150 to 980230 ,980360 to 980380, 980540 to 980590: production by Norddeutsche Dornierat Wismar ..." but have a look here discussion about right werk nr. and A8/A9: http://www.lwag.org/forums/archive/i...hp/t-2909.html Dears , Have You got his photo or (Dog-Tag) EM numer ??? Please sent on my e-mail below. Here is some info about him: http://sturmvogel.orbat.com/FGnorm.html His collegues Lt. Otto Bach and Fritz Wegner (I think): http://www.warbirdinformationexchang...509293#p509293 Two days later 13.03.1945 collegue Lt. Otto Bach from JG1 will get DK in Gold : http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/germ...ts/letter2.htm maybe was in action with Hubert Swoboda on South Stettin 11.03.1945 ?
