Quite right! It's absolutely baffling what turns up on Ebay sometimes! Long live the web.

Re: Ebay madness...

And why, pray tell, doesn't somebody pay a heap of money for this photo of a He 111:

(found by Ed West)

This kind of camouflage was extremely rare on He 111s. So this photo doesn't seem to be worth less than that Storch.

Re: Ebay madness...

Yes. Long live the web! Besides, I've gotten a lot of help and knowledge from people here and the LEMB (Luftwaffe Experten Message Board).

But like most everything in life, the web is a two-edged sword.

Re: Ebay madness...

Well, first, I usually do not find photos interesting for me on ebay - I have other, better sources.
Second, really I do not care if anything is bought by Sudek or Z3M or anyone else, as they are unaccessible for me in the very same way.
Third, I have heard stories of people being treated by Sudek very friendly but cut off by the gang around him. How much truth in that, I do not know.

Real biddings start at about 20 seconds before the auction's end.

I'll certainly be there...

Well, these people appear to target fighters of any type. So, on several auctions I have been outbid by these bright lights on shots of Me 110 night fighters. Perhaps it's the old saying: "He wins who has the most toys when he dies."
