If so, fine with me.
There's no need to start a fight on an otherwise very enjoyable thread. And if anyone really feels a need to be pedantic, they can at least be polite about it.

Back on topic please …

Healthy argument on my part. And I am saying and posting my argument against it. This posting by sirbob alerted me.

Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research

I think the Holy Grail is really quite a simple thing for anyone interested in the Luftwaffe. It consists of just two simple steps:

a) for the German government to digitise and make available online the entire holdings of the Bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv

b) for the Russian government to do the same with the entire holdings of TsAMO (the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defence)

Neither government will do this willlingly, so they need to be beaten into doing it.

Regards,

Paul

My view of this "Holy Grail" be mostly fiction - or deliberate misinfo - but mostly fiction created by them not really capable doing their own research and not propery if they have the resources available do research. Single images of obscure and often fictitious subjects do not alter this opinion of mine.

Ed, I don't care how angry you feel about this topic, keep it to yourself, nobody else needs to hear about it. It can hardly have escaped you that plenty of people here have a track record of doing their own research.

Nick; no angryness, how on earth can you deduct that, maybe bitter (mostly over my country PM/PM wifes has his capital hiddein in offshore accounts and evading tax).
Certainly I have noticed those doing their research - and I try help those that do, occationally at least

"6.(F)123 Ju 88 S-1 140700 was not S-1 really, it was Ju 188 V61 (Prototype Ju 88 E-2) converted in mid 1942. Possibly the DF+EV but may have had other code."

Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research

Beauvais has DF+EV as "Ju 188 1061" in his logbook, so we need support for this be V61

Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research

What's about an basic course in Sütterlin necessary for your researches? Have an look on 12.10.1942 - it's clear an handwritten "V" and not an "10" or is the next entry the Me 262 "102" (PC+UB)?
