Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Better late than never. Is the damage to the Me 262 seen in the first picture of Rudi's post #850 (page 85) due to demolition or a notlandung?

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
No idea but I think that the following photos are from the same a/c. Maybe someone can identify the a/c after seeing these.
This is the photo in post #850 Karoband was referring to: Regards, Rudi |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Some German aircraft were partly destroyed using a grenade in the cockpit. Larger aircraft, depending on situation, had an explosive charge placed in the midsection.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thank you, Rudi and Ed.
From the above pictures, this seems to be a fully camouflaged Me 262 with a detached tail laying in an open field right beside the autobahn. I'm with Rudi hoping someone can identify it. Jim |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
To me the damage looks definitely like it has been caused by an explosion.

Spektor and Franck,
Thank you for the additional photos. They are appreciated. I concur with Rudi. It does look like demolition. Jim |
