Also a Ta 154 on the fifth photo in this lot. Seems to be double exposured and taken in a hangar. I've not seen it before. Other two Ta 154 photos are obviously picturing a model aircraft. |

Re: Photos 9-29
Hi can anybody identify the Junkers 88 4D+DA seen in a derelict state in N.Africa. Appears to be a Stab/KG30 a/c.

Re: Photos 9-29
Hi Steve;
Looks like I whould hang my hat on Erp.St./KG 30 (not Stab.) machine, Ju 88 A-4 0881757 known damaged in ground collision with another a/c at Bizerta 21.11.1942 <Bizerte - Sidi-Achmed / Karouba> as rep in A.I.2 (G) dated 02.06.43 - five Ju 88´s are listed; one stated as ´4D+GA´ with white band around fuselage. Maybe 4D+DA was the other (not reported) or writingerror in that AI2 (g) report! There are TWO Ju 290 listed in that same A.I.2 (g) report - 0154 / J4+AH at Sidi-Achmed is one, who was the other? (see Ju 290 J4+AH in background/on other photos) cheers ed |

Re: Photos 9-29
The first misc. images listed show what is almost certainly Ju 290 W.Nr.0154 coded J4+AH, lost at Tunis on 1 May 1943. The Ju 88 4D+DA also shown in the images is possibly is Ju 88A-4 W.Nr 141047 flown by Epro. Staffel KG 30 ( whose aircraft carried the final “A” codes), damaged on 13 January 1943. Another possibility might be an aircraft on loan to 7.KG 30 as the Stab shows no losses in Tunis, but several 7th staffel were reported.
If anyone has better information, I would appreciate your input (Ed North-I had already written this before I saw you r post). Best Regards, ArtieBob |

Likewise to you Artie Bob, for your info on the above and lead regarding possible 7/KG30 a/c and losses. I shall endeavour to follow up these links in due course. Thank you gentlemen. Best regs, Steve. |

Re: Photos 9-29
The 141047 was the 4D+CA. This aircraft left the Junkers repair facility Leipzig/Mockau in Oct. 1942 and was in December 1942 at Napoli, Comiso and Catania with the Junkers crew Kindermann, Körner and Dürsel.

Re: Photos 9-29
Hi Revi16!
It says: Witrol But no one seems to know what that means. This photo is shown in "Focke-Wulf Fw 190D, camouflage & markings, Part 1 by Marc Deboeck, Eric Larger, Tomas Poruba". |
