Who flew Fw-190 A with werknummer 617961 Blau 3+ from 2./JG 2 on march 2nd 1944 when it was lost near Maisoncelle Belgium ?

Alain:

There were no 190s with the 617xxx prefix. JG 2 lost 5 x 190A-7s and 1 A-6 that we know of. Closest one would be in in the 642xxx range.

Another difficulty is that 2./JG 2 was in Italy on 2 March 1944 (see http://www.ghostbombers.com/JG2/jg2frame.html).

More likely an erronous record for an aircraft in the 176xxx series in my opinion

Regarding the date and my researches W.Nr 176xxx is not possible as they were not yet built . More probably a machine in the range 170xxx.
