LWC 2500
Does anyone know what this item of equipment was: bomb-trolley, crane, vehicle …?

Re: LWC 2500
It sounds like a bomb crane, Nick. But, thus far I have not been able to find the exact unit.
All the best, George |

Re: LWC 2500
Hi Nick,
yes it is a bomb crane, in German: Bomben-Hubgerät (google-language-tool says "Load-hoist mechanism"). In this case "LWC 2500" for 2.500kg bombs, e.g. SC2500 "Max". For 500kg-bombs: Bombenhubgerät LWC 500/IX, LDv 197, Beschreibung, Bedienungs- und Wartungsvorschrift, 1936, 27 Seiten mit 11 Abbildungen. Inhalt: Beschreibung; Wirkungsweise; Bedienung; Wartung.# Source: http://www.luftfahrt-archiv-hafner.d...iste_teil2.htm Greetings, Christian www.nachtschlacht.com www.nachtschlacht.de |

Re: LWC 2500
Thanks both of you. I was trying to work it out from the initials LWC and couldn't come up with anything.

Re: LWC 2500
According to a wartime English-German military dictionary compiled by the Air Ministry, L.W.C. simply means Ladewagen Cylindrisch. It is identified by those letters even in the handbook for that unit.

Re: LWC 2500
Just my luck to have the facsimilie edition of the American Anglo-German Military Dictionary, it was no help at all!
