Obergefreiter Willi SCHOCKE
Can anyone identify the background to Willi Schocke, age 21, recovered from Stokes Bay, Gosport, with Engelbert Gotz on 15 October 1940 and buried at Anns Hill, Gosport, on 17 October? Gotz was a crew member of a 3(F)/123 Junkers 88 lost on 23 September, but where did Schocke come from?

Andy, I have Bs Ogef. Willi Schocke of 4/KG55 from He111 2643 shot down 30-9-40 his body washed ashore Horsesand Fort on Oct 14th buried Anns Hill Cemetry Gosport. Ff Gef. Erich Rudek m, b Ofw. Helmut Guttler m-+, Bf Gef. Karl Bauer m, Bm Gef Fritz Strauss m

Thank you, Brian! That makes sense now. The Anns Hill register extract I have says he was found with Gotz in Stokes Bay on 15th October. Clearly an error.
