Hello,

does somebody know more abot this unit? When she was created? Any known losses of this unit except two on April 10 and April 14 1945? I have got this unit based at Hradec Králové (Königgrätz) from April 10 1945 unit End of WW2. Any known base(s) before? Is known any CO?

Thanks for help

It is not for help, because there is any mention about Schutzstaffel. And of course, I know this site...

Michal,

I think there is a relation with 4.(Erg)/JG 1 and perhaps also III.(Erg)/JG 1. They all had Einsatzstaffel from early March 1945 onwards. It would help if you could list the two losses you have from April 10 and April 14th.

Thanks,

John

Re: Schutzstaffel/Ergänzungsjagdgeschwader 1

Schutzstaffel/Ergänzungsjagdgeschwader 1 should defend new HQ of Generalfeldmarschall Schörner in Lázně Velichovky, Eastern Bohemia during last days of WW2. Unit was based probably from April 10 1945 until End of War at Hradec Králové (Königgrätz) A/F, situated not far from Schörner´s HQ.

Except of losses I don´t have anything, any related document to this unit

10.4.1945, Schutzstaffel (E) J.G. 1, Fl.Pl.
Leunt Rudolf - Notes: accroding to Volksbund Rudi Leune, Todesort: Luftraum über Reichenberg - Schörner really flew to invite Hitler)

With crash on April 14 1945 is probably connected other crash-landing:

14.4.1945, 11.(E)/J.G. 1, Begleitschutz für He 111, Fl.Pl. Görlitz, Kopfstand bei Landung, nicht feindbeob., Bf 109G-14, gelbe 13, W.Nr. 464153, 35%

And it is everything what I have. Would thankful for any information about this unit, crews, other bases etc.

Re: Schutzstaffel/Ergänzungsjagdgeschwader 1

Hi Michal,

Aaah, found your losses too in the KTB Lfl. 6. There is nothing else related to Schutzstaffel (E) JG 1 that I could find.

On 8.3.45 it was reported that Eins.Gr. IV. (Erg)/JG 1 was stationed at Görlitz with parts of the unit in Bautzen-Litten and Königgrätz. Could this be the link to Schutzstaffel (E)/JG 1? Do you know when GFM Schörner had his headquarters there? Could be that these Bf 109's belonged to IV.(E)/JG 1. As you know IV.(E)/JG 1 became III.(E)/JG 1 on 29.3.45. Kommandeur was Hptm. Seckel. I believe they just left a few Bf 109's, maybe one or two Schwarme behind to protect Schörner?

That's all can think of.

John.

Re: Schutzstaffel/Ergänzungsjagdgeschwader 1

Hello John,

well, your mentioned Einsatz Gruppe IV./EJG 1 has no relation to Schutzstaffel. It is 9./EJG 1 which was transfered from Bautzen-Litten to Hradec Králové (Königgrätz) on February 20 1945 and stayed there until April 10 1945. For this unit and this period I have only two losses during transfer on February 20 1945 nearby Poděbrady, Central Bohemia.
