Desert Prelude
It would be better for publishers to provide potential buyers with a few lines of descriptive text as opposed to, well, nothing.
Expected in February according amazon.co.uk http://www.mmpbooks.biz/mmp/forecast.php?page=1 Usual disclaimer, Ed |

Re: Desert Prelude
Hello,
Desert Prelude is a book written by myself and my colleague Ludovico Slongo. The text of the book has been finished for a couple of years. From the beginning the book covered the operations over North Africa from 10 June 1940 until 7 February 1941 in great detail (+300 pages), in fact, in such detail that the book now has been split in two and the first, which is due to February 2010 covers the operations from 10 June until 30 November 1940. Best wishes/Håkan

Re: Desert Prelude
Hello,
Thank you for the additional information. I work in book publishing (fiction) and our potential customers always want to know as much as possible about the book before deciding to order it. In these difficult economic times especially, I encourage you to add a few words to potential buyers. Regards, Ed |

Re: Desert Prelude
Hello,
According to the publisher, the publishing date is set to 1 March 2010 for "Desert Prelude: Early clashes". From the backside of the cover: "The campaign in North Africa in 1940, between Italian and Commonwealth forces, has been little studied or written about. In this the first of two volumes, the air war from June to November of 1940 is described, along the associated ground and naval campaigns. For the British and allied forces this was a minor campaign, involving mostly aircraft types considered obsolete elsewhere, and this was the last major aerial battlefield between biplane fighters. Nonetheless on both the Italian and British side the top aces of WW2 made their mark, Teresio Martinoli and Thomas 'Pat' Pattle respectively. Profusely illustrated with many rare photos, plus maps and colour profiles, these books are a tribute to those who fought in a forgotten, but significant campaign. Volume 2, Desert Prelude - Operation Compass", will complete the story." The book has 228 pages in A4 format and the index covers more than 1200 names (more than 700 Italian and 450 Commonwealth). A sample page is available from the publisher at: http://stratusbooks.com.pl/str/books_pdf/119.pdf The book will be available through all 'usual' channels. We have also started the layout work with Volume 2, so this hopefully isn't far away. Best wishes/Håkan
