Heavy Crop Aerial Photo Dessau May 30, 1944
I'm not very good at aircraft identification. Maybe someone knows what is on the ground and in the pens?

Re: Heavy Crop Aerial Photo Dessau May 30, 1944
Hello again!
The moving A/C on the left is certainly a Ju-52 (we are in Dessau, home of Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke). There is a four engine A/C in one of the hangars in the wood, I would say a Ju-290...without certainty! JV |

Thanks JV
Immediately to the left of the 4 engine possible JU-290 there is what appears to be an even larger AC in the pen. It is hard to tell how many engines it has though. All the best Scott Blyth |

Re: Heavy Crop Aerial Photo Dessau May 30, 1944
Hello Scott I have taken measurements on the photo (against the Ju52 known has having a 29m wingspan), and I find 42m for the "Ju290" which makes really a Ju290!
The span of the other one approaches 50 m which makes it almost certainly the Ju390V1 which was in store at Dessau at the time of the photo. Note the latter is a six-engine A/C and visibly some of the engines have been removed already. My 2 cents, JV |

Good work JV so how many JU390V1s were there and how many JU390s of all types?

Re: Heavy Crop Aerial Photo Dessau May 30, 1944
Somewhat rare you might say. I understand that there may never have been a V2 though which could make this one the one and only. All the material I have looked at in the past few hours suggests that the V1 was not returned to Dessau until November 1944.
