From a Luftwaffe crash site 25 km south Salerno. Some idea?

Some idea about those parts? Came from a Luftwaffe crash site in south Italy, 25 km sout of Salerno (perhaps crashed 29 sept 1943). As soon as possible I'll post other fragments.

Thank. I hope to post photos of other fragments we find. We find a lot of fragments but not 1 (one) bullet. Do you know if german fighters expulse all fired ammunition??

Hello Salerno,

Regarding the first plate you posted, I don’t know upon what it was mounted, but at a minimum I show LGW Hakenfelde as producing aircraft instruments:

LGW Hakenfelde = Luftfahrtgerätewerk Hakenfelde GmbH, Berlin-Spandau, Streitstr. 5-17. Hersteller code = hdc.

LGW Hakenfelde = Luftfahrtgerätewerk Hakenfelde GmbH (für ausländische Zulieferer), Berlin-Spandau, Streister. 5-17. Hersteller code = nhu.

Unless I am mistaken, your second plate appears to be from a FuG16Z radio set. Among other types, these radios were often found in late model Bf109Gs and K-4s, Fw190A-8s and A-9s, as well as Fw190D-9s. The installation of FuG16Z radio sets can be deduced by the fitting of under wing Moraine masts.

Although I am pointing out an obvious thing, none of the types cited above can be involved in a crash in Salerno area in Fall 1943...

Hi,

Are you sure about the possible crash dates, 27 or 29 September 1943? There was bad weather from 27 to 29 September, and almost no German missions were flown on those days. On 27 September only a few reconnaissance sorties were flown. On 28 September only five reconnaissance sorties were flown. On 29 September only a handful of sorties were flown. I can find no losses in the Salerno area on those days.

edit_ FuG16ZS radio set would be carried by Schlacht airplanes. Different receiver on the ground: Bodenfunkstelle Fu5/Luft

The date is not sure because writer of book is not accurate. Crash can be from Summer 1943 to september 1943. Location is Acerno. Pilot bailed out according to writer. Thanks for your help.
