RAF 205 BG planes, Italy
Hi Folks,
Could anybody tell me the AC letter code of the following 205th BG planes: 37. Sq. Wellington Xs: LP225, LP355, LP375, LP575, MF471, MF472, MF475, MF957 178. Sq. Liberators: EW265, KG995, KG998, KH103, KH203, KH241 614. Sq. Halifax IIs.: JP325, JP334 614. Sq. Liberators: KG945, KG947, KG949, KG955 Which 31 & 34. SAAF Sq. Liberators flew the November 22/23, 1944. Szombathely mission? Thanks, Gabor |

Stand to be corrected a/c from both 31 34 flew to Szombathely on November 22/23, 1944;
My Dad (an RAFVR Air Gunner attached to SAAF) who had been with 34 Sqd, did his first trip with 31 Sqd toSzombathely on 20/21 October - take off 1845 duration 5h 40 min, 8 x 1000lb from 11000ft - fighters in area A/c was KG 996 (A) On 23 November his crew did a Daylight bommbing mission on Troop Concentrations at Rogatica (?), Yugoslavia, 12 x 500lbs from 12000ft PZULBA - Out of Africa (Retired) |
