Re: Oblt Werner Heinieke 10/.JG5
Hi Guys
He was the Staffelkapitän of 7./JG 5 from February 1945 until the wars end, thus surviving the war. Czech born on 17th October 1916 he earlier flew with 4.erg/JGr.Ost in 1944. As to his claims, he had four until end September 1944, after this time JG 5's daily claims were not recorded on the micro films, but they made many claims over Russian aircraft in October 1944, thereafter a few claims over British and American aircraft, his known claims are(all with 10./JG 5):- 15th September 1944 P-39 0723 hrs 500 metres Nr.1 26th September 1944 Jak-9 1442 hrs 1200 metres Nr.2 27th September 1944 Boston area of Kiberg 1139 hrs 2500 metres Nr.3 27th September 1944 P-39 1143 hrs 1200 metres Nr.4 Likely to have claimed more in October 1944. Re: Oblt Werner Heinieke 10/.JG5
His known opponents:
26.9.44: Raid on Vadso. 2 Yak-7s and 1 P-40N lost (serious overclaiming by JG 5...) 27.9.44: There were 3 P-39s lost in action that date, versus at least 7 claims by JG 5 The Boston would have come from 36 MTAP. Walter Schuck is credited with an A-20G of 36 MTAP flown by Captain Protas baled out safely. Lt.Jermak. Lt.Bystrov and Sgt.Karlamov all KIA Recommend this site to you: http://ktsorens.tihlde.org/flyvrak/falkgarden.html be sure to go back to the homepage and check out the other wrecks documented.... Re: Oblt Werner Heinieke 10/.JG5
Are you certain about the WNr of Heinicke´s Bf 109G-6?
414463 lies beyond the known WNrn range and a G-6 of JG 5 is listed on 17th, June 1944 as WNr 411463 with Ofhr Hans Vollet at the controls? Regards Roland |

Re: Oblt Werner Heinieke 10/.JG5
According to Prien, et al. in Jagdfliegerverbände der Luftwaffe, Teil 10/III Heinicke was credited, as his first, with a Beaufighter shot down on 1.05.43 at 21:40 while with 3./JG 5. However Mombeek in Eismeerjäger, Band 2 shows Lt. Karl-Heinz Steinicke as having made this claim.
