Recce pilot Anton-Josef Mader (KC)
Hello,
I am seeking some information on recce pilot Obfw. Anton-Josef Mader. He was awarded the Ritterkreuz on March 26, 1944 while being with NAGr. 11. 1.) Can anybody specify the Staffel (Squadron) he was assigned to at the time of being with NAGr. 11 (should be either the 1st or the 2nd Staffel)? 2.) He was reported missing on February 02, 1945 in the region of Landsberg an der Warthe in Brandenburg (today: Gorzów Wielkopolski/Poland). At that time he was assigned to II./AG 103 (former II./NAG 102), a training unit. Anybody has further information about his loss? Was it on a training flight or on a mission (the Soviets had moved into the town of Landsberg on January 30, 1945) or due to some other reason? Thank you for any information. Greez Ghostwriter |
