It's been in a fire. And look at the Me-109 in the background. That fire vaporized nearly the whole aircraft.

Hello Rémi,

Unless I am mistaken, your Fw 190 is:

Fw 190 A-3, WNr. 130513, St.Kz. DF+GM found abandoned and damaged at Gosselies, Belgium in 1944.

Steve is correct to a point. IIRC, the A-2 had open slots. The A-4 was the first to have those moveable, cooling, slots, but many A-3s were refitted with them.

To John Beaman - a/c on the ebay photo have open cooling slots. Movable slots was introduced on A-5s.
Thank you Steve Sheflin for additional info.

Nice Photo (eBay) Late War Fw 190

Hi guys

I have to agree with John Beaman in that the cooling gills were introduced on the Fw 190 A-4 as that is what all the sources that I have read state. I should also mention that I have seen reference to this particular aircraft being Fw 190 A-3 (W.Nr. 0135 513).

Horrido!

Leo

According to Wings of the black cross no.1 it is Fw190A-2, WNr.513, red 17 somewhere in Germany. There are also additional 5 photos of this a/c.

Re: Nice photo (ebay) late war FW 190

The Fw190A-3 WNr. 0513 DF+GM was lost in a 100% crash at North Africa on 19.07.42.

This aircraft was Fw190A-3 WNr. 5513 (build by Arado, where often the first "5" was not painted at the aircraft), it was damaged during a bomb raid at Bizerta on 28.11.42, shipped home and repaired. During that repair a new engine with new cooling slots became installed.

Re: Nice photo (ebay) late war FW 190

Thanks Merlin

However Arthy/Jessen claim this EKdo 19 aircraft to be WNr 0130515.
What is your source please?

Smith/Creek claim the WNr 0501 to 0520 were coded GF+DA to GF+DZ. Does this need to be changed to DF+GA to DF+GZ?

Cheers
Stig
