KG 40 or KG 100?
Two well-known photos of He 177A's.
One is reputedly depicting A-5s of II./KG 40 at Bordeaux-Mérignac before a mission. The other shows an aircraft sporting the same camouflage pattern but definitely wearing the "6N" code of KG 100. My question is: - did a few He 177s of II./KG 40 wear the markings of KG 100? - or was the same camo pattern shared by both units? Thanks in advance. Chris
