Re: German losses May 10,1940 Belgium
I can help for one of them : Kisker Manfred
Uffz Manfred Kisker was the radio aboard a He 111 of 3./KG 27 that was shot down during a confuse morning battle between I./ and III./KG 27 vs GC III/1 and 85 Sqn. He was killed in the air during the attack, the bomber belly-landed near Mons, Belgium. It is not possible to know who shot down it exactly. The three other crew were captured: Uffz Otto Wehmeier (pilot, unhurt), Uffz Arthur Voigt (observer, wounded) and Uffz Otto Miklitz (flying engineer, wounded, lost a leg). |

Re: German losses May 10,1940 Belgium
![]() I have to thank you sincerely for your quick answers in name of my friend! He was realy astonished to have such a quick reply with such a lot of info. Thanks again. Now he asked me again for your help.Since years he's searching for the following case: Again on May 10,1940, there was (probably a collision) a crash between 2 JU87 from the 9/StG2 in KAPELLEN op de Bos (Belgium). 1st Stuka: 1) U/Off.-pilot: BRÜCKNER Ernst, ° June 8,1919 and + May 10,1940. Originally burried in Brussels, but re-burried on April,12,1949 in Lommel (Belgium),graven°: BL45GR139. 2) ??????? Question: who was the second person in this plane? He was probably arrested by the Belgian Gendarmerie. Was he a POW afterwards? 2nd Stuka: 1) Feldw.-pilot NITSCHKE Alfred, °Dec.25,1914 and + May 10,1940. Or.burried in Brussels and afterwards re-burried in Lommel (B) on April 12, 1949.GraveN°: BL45GR141. 2) U/Off.-pilot GILON Udo, ° August 7,1913 and + May 10,1940. Burried in Brussels and re-burried in Lommel (B),..., Graven°:BL45GR140. If we can help you with something, pls let us now ! Many regards, fredcompa (for Frans) |

Re: German losses May 10,1940 Belgium
Hi Fred,
On this inicdent I have not more details than you have. It happened during the massive attack on Antwerpen around 20.30 hours in the evening. The two machines had a mid-air collision and both crashed indeed in Kapellen-op-den-Bos. There are pictures of at least one crashed Stuka. But responding to your offer; yes I have a few open ends myself. Can you give details on the following crashes on May 10 1940 in Belgium (unit and crew)? - a He-111 in Hechtel - a Do-17Z (of 5./KG77?) in Alken - a Do-17 around Genk Thanks, Pieter |

Re: German losses May 10,1940 Belgium
Hello Pieter!
Thanks in the name of Frans! Here is some info for you, it's not complete, he's still trying to find more, at home, in the KLM and in the CDH in Evere. Do-17 around Genk: shot down by the Belgian anti-aircraft. Do-17Z (or 5./KG77?) in Alken: no more info found in the pc from the KLM (Roayal Army Museum) He-111 in Hechtel from 1LG1 is probably shot down in a airfight at Klein Aistedden near LOMMEL. He's looking even in the files of the Maires of these cities. PS: als u nederlands spreekt, geef een seintje, dan bezorg ik u het rechtstreeks mailadres van Frans, dat schaklet mij dan er tussen uit ... Groetjes, Fred |
