February 25, 1932 US Navy Lt Frederick Mackay Trapnell 2nd Parachute Escape
On February 25, 1932 US Navy Lt Frederick Mackay Trapnell made his 2nd Parachute Escape after he jumped with a parachute from an experimental-type plane which he was testing and landed uninjured in Oxon Hill, Md. - Apparently the plane's tail came off in a dive
His first escape was November 16, 1929 at San Diego - Which I know was from a burning aircraft "Boeing F4B fighter that split its gas tank and burst into flames over San Diego." - I see now I don't have any details of an ID for this So if anyone can fill in gaps for these 2 incidents I would appreciate it. Kind Regards Paul |
