what was the name of the fortress that crashed landed at penshurst airfield kent can anyone help.

Hi Ian,
This was a 398th Bomber Group Aircraft. Date was 6th July 1944. All crew reported as returned safe. A/c recorded as Badly damaged. Can only add that 43-37527 was added to the 2nd SAD on the 6th she was named "The Prowler" coded "N7-X" from the 603rd BS. Alex Last edited by Alex Smart; 27th August 2006 at 16:55. |
