Re: First name needed for LAC Leale - 13 Squadron
Hi all,
Another name from 13 Squadron. This LAC served with the Squadron in France, 1940. LAC Leale and was a air gunner, flying in Lysanders. Could anyone help with his first name please? Thanks all Danny

Re: First name needed for LAC Leale - 13 Squadron
Danny,
I believe that surname should be Neale instead of Leale. There are only eight names for Leale on the online (T.N.A.) AIR 78 enlisted personnel name cards. See AIR 78/95/4/page 193. Of these two appear to be 1918 vintage, while the other six have post 1940 service numbers. In the 13 Squadron Appendices (AIR 27/183A, pages 19 & 22), also online free at the T.N.A. website, there is an air gunner listed as 550892 AC1 G.D. Neale. He is George Dennis Ivor Neale from his AIR 78/117/1/108 name card. Hope this helps, Martin Gleeson. |
