Zerstörergeschwader 76 - History of the German Luftwaffe unit 1939 - 1945

I am very excited to announce that the ZG 76 book is available for ordering. Here is short info:
Zerstörergeschwader 76 - History of the German Luftwaffe unit 1939 - 1945
By Peter Kaššák and Marek Žatkovič
Paperback, 414 pages (80 grams coated paper) printed in color (however, most of the photos are B/W).
Maps, appendixes (losses, victories, COs, bases), 46 color profiles
Price: 60 EUR
Available at:
lulu.com
https://www.lulu.com/shop/marek-%C5%...t-dyg6zep.html

(Just a note: since it's a print-on-demand service with printers on each continent (Asia, Australia, UK, France, and three locations in the USA), the delivery and postal costs are as low as possible, and the book is dispatched from the nearest location to the purchaser.)

Hi Peter,

Congratulations on completing that large and important project -- you just sold another copy!

In earlier posts, you mentioned that you were working on the unit's history for the period from 1943 to 1945, and that you might eventually include the earlier era as well, after additional research.
The book's title suggests that it covers the unit's entire existence. Is that correct?

BTW, ordering via the Lulu site was quick and easy, the postage cost was very reasonable, and the quality of their publications is good. (I have two of your earlier titles, "16 June 1944" and "2 July 1944", that were published by them.)

Regards,
Leon Venter

Doh! My question has already been answered...

I just remembered that you had posted scans of the contents pages on the LRG site, which make it very clear that the book covers the unit's full history.

It's great to finally have a complete account of a Zerstörergeschwader for which very little information was previously available. Looking forward to reading it.

My best,
Leon Venter

Hi Leon,

Indeed, I found out that 1943-45 period would be a half work...Therefore I asked Martin Žatkovič to join as an expert on 1939-40 period, and he managed to prepare photos and materials for this period (of course with help of some known names researching this period of WWII). We are happy, how it all nicely came together.
We were able to fill in some gaps, add some loss details, or assign photos to events. It is practically IMPOSSIBLE to cover all photographic material for this unit. There are few photos that were on eBay in the past but are somewhere lost in private collections. Also, the II./ZG 76 was the most photographed unit (I guess) during the French campaign and so on. But we managed to include 1000+ photos, of which quite a few are new. What more, I know that Vol.5 of Stipdonk/Meyer series will be a nice supplement in terms of photographic material, and that would made the overall ZG 76 picture even more complete.
Thanks for support and we hipe you (and others) will enjoy our book.

Peter

Peter

Congratulations!
Can you confirm the book, if ordered within the EU, will be printed and sent from another country
within the EU?

It should be selfevident, but now-a-days I don't take anything for granted....

Cheers
Stig
