Luftgau report Hamburg 9 April 1945

Gents
Many moons ago someone on the forum supplied me a copy of Luftgau report covering Hamburg raid on 9 April 1945.
I cannot find it, so by any chance anyone could send it to me again, or at least point out to the source?
TIA
Franek

Re: Luftgau report Hamburg 9 April 1945

Hi Franek

Our friend Geoffrey Sinclair has the following

Reports of Physical Damage resulting from Allied Air Attacks on Germany,
1945

Royal Air Force, Air Historical Branch, translation No. VIII/164

AIR ATTACKS ON GERMANY - 1945

HAMBURG, 8a 2297 - Chief, Orpo., CD. 1264 - Works ARP, Nordmark, CD.
1268 - Works ARP, Nordmark, 28X - 11 - LW. Ops. Staff, 8/9 APRIL. Large
areas of the town were affected when 250 aircraft raided between 2220
and 2245 hours. The harbour, Altona, Harburg and Wilhelmsburg were
mainly hit.

Bombs dropped: 1800 H.E. bombs (90 duds or D.A.), 500 oil bombs, some
incendiary bombs.

Houses: 112 destroyed, 119 severely damaged, 72 medium damage, 238
slightly damaged.

Casualties: 57 dead, 96 injured and 203 buried.

Among the targets hit were Rhenania-Ossag, Blohm & Voss, Deutsche Werft
and the Hamburg Electricity Works at Neuhof which was severely damaged.
There was a partial failure also in gas and water supplies.
At Blohm & Voss about 250 H.E. and 20 incendiary bombs caused serious
damage in all parts of the yard and dock installations and to a salvage
vessel. Several boats ware sunk, including 3 U-boats and a further 5
were damaged. All public services failed. The shipyards of Howaldt
A.G. were hit by 67 H.E. (5 duds) bombs and widespread damage was caused
to various departments. One U-boat was severely damaged and two capsized
while two floating docks were sunk. The U-boat bunker was also severely
damaged.

The Elb tunnel was closed to traffic and there was severe damage to
transport installations generally. Some 50 H.E., 35 incendiary bombs
and 12 duds fell on the Stuelcken Yards, causing severe damage to
various stores, boiler forge, metal workshops and machine works.

HAMBURG, CD. 1264 - Works ARP, Nordmark, 9 APRIL. This raid took place
from 1740 hours and although only small in terms of aircraft engaged
(60) damage caused was not negligible.

Bombs dropped: 80 H.E. (50 of heavy calibre).

Casualties: 27 dead, 133 injured.

The boiler house and workshops of the German American Petroleum Co. were
destroyed. Several tanks and pipelines of the Haltermann Oil Co. were
partially destroyed. Fire broke out in tanks of the Rhenania-Ossag.
The U-boat pens Nos. 1, 2 & 5 at the Deutsche Werft in Finkenwaerder
were pierced by several H.E. bombs and by 1120 hours on 10th April 15
dead had been recovered and 89 injured. A shelter in Finkenwaerder was
also completely destroyed by H.E. bombs and by 0715 hours on 10th April
12 dead and 44 injured had been recovered. This number was expected to
rise as a number of persons were thought still to be trapped.

HANAU, E. 970 - LGK XIV, 6/7 JANUARY. The raid lasted from 1855 to 1920
hours and affected primarily the railway installations and harbour area.
Area fires developed in the inner town. Telephone communications
broke down. Several thousand H.E. and about 80000 incendiary bombs were
dropped and severe damage to buildings was caused and 6 industrial
concerns including Dunlops, where fires were started, and several public
service installations were hit. Casualties amounted to 50 dead 130
injured and some 1500 homeless. Railway traffic was suspended.

Many thanks, but this is not the thing that I am after.
The report described German reaction and involvement of I & III/JG 7 including total of claims.
I have browsed BAMA, but could not locate it, perhaps it was sourced elsewhere.

There is no problem in having it digitised. Anyway, I am not sure if all the stuff of Luftgau XI has been returned to Germany, and I guess the copy could have been from NARA microfilm. Oh, if I could find it!

Re: Luftgau report Hamburg 9 April 1945

Guys, many thanks! Sorry, but I had some problems logging on the site.
Nick, yes I mean the information, many thanks, alredy browsed and found quite conflicting information. I still believe that I have seen a document filed by Luftgau XI HQ, more less the same, but perhaps my memory plays tricks. I am going to ask for some files to be digitised.
By the way, have you ever come across any related ULTRA reports? I guess there should have been some traffic in the period, though possibly not all has been decyphered.
This combat is nurturing me for a while, and as I have recently obtained a copy of colour photo of one of the Mustangs involved in the combat, I decided to give it another try,
Franek
