Re: Abschussliste

Hello Oleg,

claims on 22 June 1941 according to Jagdfliegerverbände Vol. 6/II:

Stab/JG 52 base Wien-Aspern, no missions

Stab II./JG 52 base Suwalki, four claims:
Oblt Carl Hartmann I-15 09.50
Uffz Bernhard Wilsky I-15 09.52
Hptm Erich Woitke I-15 09.53
Hptm Erich Woitke DB-3 16.48

Stab/JG 77 base Bacàu west of river Sereth, no claims
Stab II./JG 77 base Bacàu, no claims
Stab III./JG 77 base Roman, no claims
In November 1940 the I./JG 77 was integrated into the IV./JG 51.

Re: Abschussliste

Oleg

You do notice the answers differ quite a bit?
Actually there did exist a I./JG 77 at the time of the German invasion of Soviet Union.
But it operated from Norway (and later Finland)

Ihlefeld's claim on 22.6.41 was with I.(J)/LG 2 and I suspect Ludwig's claim was with the same
unit. The third formation of I./JG 77 (ex I(J)/LG 2) only took place on 6 Jan 1942, but I
believe (without chacking) it was controlled by the Stab/JG 77 at the time.

The fighter situation in Norway/Finland (until finally JG 5 emerged) is darn complex and
I am still not sure I have got things right up there....

According to Johannes Mathews both Hartmann and Wilsky scored on the 22nd!

What is a bit disturbing is that Bernd Barbas in his book about II./JG 52 are missing a seemingly
large amount of claims by the unit. For example neither Hartmann nor Wilsky are included on the
day in question.
