RAF raid on Oflag VIIB Dossel POW camp

Hi guys

Can anyone enlighten me re the erroneous raid by the RAF on the POW camp Oflag VIIB at Dossel, that occurred sometime in 1943. I am completely in the dark so any info would be appreciated. I am aware that there were allied casualties.

Cheers
Brian

There were several attack on the camps and victims are always allies. I know for the Yugoslav casualties and some personal memories. Also grand father of my ex girlfriend was killed in one of this attack.

Re: RAF raid on Oflag VIIB Dossel POW camp

Hello,
This may not be of any help at all .
But taken from BCWD.
1943 only.
16/17 January.
Raid Berlin 52 French and 1 English POW and 6 Foreign Workers killed.
12/13 March.
Raid Essen 5 POW's +61 Foreign Workers killed.
14/15 April.
Raid Stuttgart 257 French and 143 Russian POW's killed.
4/5 May.
Raid Dortmund 200 POW's killed.
25/26 July.
Raid Essen 42 POW's and 131 Foreign Workers killed.
23/24 August.
Raid Berlin 102 Foreign Workers and 2 POW's killed.
29/30 September.
Raid Bochum 33 Foreign Workers and POW's killed.
18/19 November.
Raid Berlin 27 Foreign Workers and POW's killed.
26/27 November.
Raid Berlin 157 Foreign Workers and 26 POW's killed.

This may not include the POW camp you name but shows that allied POW's were also victims of the Air asult on Germany.
This as said was from BCWD so does not include losses caused by Fighter Command, or USAAF.
Alex
